The term mood disorder designates the large class of diseases and symptoms which consist of alterations or abnormalities of the mood of the individual; they are of such magnitude as to cause the person problems or dysfunction persistent or repeated, or marked distress.
The concept of mood indicates the related emotional background of our mental activity. Each person has their own mood that the subject tends to exhibit more frequently. This can be considered as characteristic of the subject, which habit and character as part of the temperament of the person. It is the result of both a basic biological endowment of the individual, that is, its hereditary constitution, and of the changes caused by the environment for growth and development of personality (including the factors present in the womb). Personality (or character) has been defined in many ways, but we can say that it is the totality of characteristics, or traits stable, representing the way in which each of us respond, interact, perceive and think about what happens.
You can also say that the personality is how stable that each of us has been built with their own experiences and from their innate temperament, to establish relationships with others and with the world.
The traits that make it up are the characteristics of your style of relating to others: so for example there is the stretch of dependence on others, or suspicion, or seduction, or the love of self. Normally these traits must be flexible enough depending on the circumstances: thus at times be helpful to be more dependent or passive than usual, while others will be more functional seductive.
The personality disorders are characterized by rigid and inflexible by the presentation of these traits, even under less appropriate. For example, some people tend to appear in a seductive way regardless of the situation in which they find themselves, making it difficult to handle the situation, other people, however, tend to be more dependent on others so that they cannot make their own decisions.
