The case history data

In psychological assessment, the case history data examination is very essential, that is, it encompasses of the development of appropriate strategies that focus the examination of the origin of the case, it is a well-comprehended approach in psychology that implies that for curing and healing a patient, it is extremely necessary to reach the root cause, and therefore, reach the factor causing it. In this regard the case history data encompasses of the collection of facts and figures that lead to the actual cause of the mental illness. The case history data encompasses of;

Individual examination: it comprises of the examination of individual with details of all he had been through, as well as, his perceptions about it.

Environment: another major facet of the data pertains to the environment, that is, the surroundings that the individual has lived in and the atmosphere provided by the family and the world around

Family history: a very essential component of the case history comprises of the family history, it takes into account the medical history of the family, and therefore, the diseases and mental disorders suffered by the family and inherited by the individual (Hogan, 2002).

Clinical interview

A clinical interview is another essential component of all the psychological assessments and examinations, it comprises of the verbal and observational interview of the patient. It is defined as “an interview that is targeted at dispatching relief to the patient by talking to him, it encompasses of the integration of the knowledge, theories and application of psychology, so as to gain an insight of the feelings of the patient and assess the case history of the individual”.
