Initial Evaluation Prior to Project Startup

Introduction

This paper presents the proposal pertaining to project management entailing the project intial evaluation prior to starting of the project. It identifies and elaborates the associated project along with justification of its significance in relation to project performance and success. Critical appraisal involves the project focusing on the chosen areas with the appropriate theories and frameworks identified through relevant academic literature. It provides the importance of leading a project team effectively while seeking to achieve overall project success. The relationship between various concepts such as leadership, projet team, and success is also defined with respect to intial evaluation to provide the importance of this concern.

Discussion

Project management can be defined as a planned effort to accomplish a certain project. It includes planning, organizing, and managing resources which leads to success in achieving the project (Pinto, 2010). Project management includes the planning a project, identifying tasks and goals which are to be achieved. A well executed project leads to the success of the business. Project management is associated with 5 types of processes which include: initiation, planning, executing, controlling, and closing. A successful project can be evaluated on the basis of these steps. Professionally, project management should be carried on the basis of different projects and the goals which are set up in order to achieve it (Maylor, 2010).

Identification of Project & Its Details

The project elucidates the development and launch of technological device which was designed in collaboration with several partners and team members. The project provides the importance of leading a project team effectively while seeking to achieve overall project success. The project performance and success depends on various factors. It determines the overall efforts of team work focusing on the element of synergy. The project is evaluated on the qualitative and quantitative measures.

The importance of leading a project team effectively while seeking to achieve overall project success represents the main purpose of project evaluation and management. The project related to the development of technological device is categorized as real live project as mentioned in this initial proposal. However, the project is under development and needs to be evaluated. The project situation describes the technical and commercial aspects of the project. This states the various factors such as the modularity, scalability, and configuration of the device.

Research Methodology

The research methods determine the appropriate theories and frameworks identified through relevant academic literature (Gardiner, 2005). This assists in the evaluation of project in the light of relevant theories and frameworks to establish hypothetical conditions. This can lead to proper evaluation and assessment of the project. The team management is also speculated to understand the element of synergy prevailing in the project management. Therefore, this phase plays a vital role in the desired evaluation of the project management itself (Anbari, 2003).
