For the purpose of this assignment the major tasks have been divided into different groups. Every group or team was consigned with a specific task that needed to be fulfilled that would be afterwards highlighted within this paper. For implementing an enormous project like offshore drilling platforms and other are tasks that are not easy. These types of projects require support at all levels. The support is in the shape of groups of people who manage the time and resources accordingly. For the failure or the success of projects, teamwork was found as being a necessary constituent. The effectual management and use of teams for the projects has been seen as being a chief determinant for how flourishing a project would be; nonetheless, any team's efficiency relies on the capability of the team members of interacting appositely with each other for producing a mutually-shared result.

The term 'Team' has been defined by Hoegl (2004) as a social interaction amid more than two or two individuals in an entity who share a common task. A team has even been explained as group of individual who hold themselves communally responsible for one another and who work collectively for achieving a shared goal (Scholtes, et.al, 2003). The afore-mentioned description consider the verity that for any team to be present, definite fundamental ingredients have to be present that comprise of a joint accountability for failure or success; mutual accountability; and constancy of purpose.

Within the field of project management, teamwork's benefits could not be overstressed. As a team assists in the mobilization of varied resources to a project, which when compared to the outcomes attained by one person is quite more. It was also noted by Church (1998) that a team offers the flexibility of using the mobilized resources; therefore, assisting for continuing with the project if a specific team member is indisposed. Maybe the utmost value of teams in managing a project relies on the capability of the team for providing a synergy of the endeavors of the individual members of team whereby the outcomes attained are more than the arithmetic sums of the individual members' contribution within a team (Peters, 1980, Pp. 391).

The selection of team for the project was consigned to the participants who had to divide themselves in different teams on the basis of internal acceptance and personal choice. Within educational setting randomly selecting groups is quite ordinary, although not rational, because this type of selection does not take into consideration the skills diversity amongst the students (Blowers, 2003). Within this project, formation of teams, in terms of skill sets was random in a sense that there was no assessment prior to a team being selected, only a choice of acquaintances or friends. This will appear as being negative and, as pointed out by Bowlers (2003), completely impracticable within the corporate environment in which teams with individuals having high skill-sets will be selected for giving a project the maximum ...
