Initiation

This is the stage where the idea comes to the project. This step will addresses the problem and the need to move the opening of the project. At initiation stage, macro-level business goals, objectives Technologies, schedules will be defined that are required to define the various stakeholders (such as customer). This phase tends to be vague but in the end are answers to questions such as:

Who is the client?

What is the need?

What are the objectives?

Who is the operation? (Meredith & Mantel, 2011)

What is the solution required?

Who are the stakeholders?

Information that will help incorporate this is historical information, basic assumptions, organizational policies and more. Phase deliverables will be decided on opening a project, a statement of the initial project and the appointment of a project manager (Heagney, 2011). Wrong definition of the project at this stage will likely result in the failure of the actual project.

Design phase

The planning phase is the most essential step in the project. Success in design are likely to lead to success in meeting the project, client satisfaction, meeting deadlines, quality compliance and more. This phase begins during the initiation phase and ends towards the end of the project (Meredith & Mantel, 2011). Be sure to complete the required design elements (Skipping this step will lead to actual failure process). This phase includes construction work plan, including recommended the plans are the following:

Planning work content are planning - the detailed planning and project work packages, the distribution of responsibilities and how to update the changes.

Planning schedules, to-do, order tasks, time per task, dependent, constraints and critical path.

Cost Planning - Preparing a budget plan and financial estimates.
