Executive Summary

The report analyses a project of managing the various investment project by Generics+100 firms. The project aims at resolving the market based problems of Generics +100 and help the firm to increase its market presence.

PMBOK defines project management is “application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project activities to achieve the project requirements. project management is accomplished through the application and integration of the project management processes of initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing” (PMI 2008, p.8).

The report defines the project using the life cycle of the project, make plans for the various activities of the project using the planning techniques like the milestone chart, the Gantt chart, the WBS and network analysis using the AON technique. GENERICS+100 is a large privately owned pharmaceutical company based in Sydney. The company has many different business groups. These include life supporting drugs, pain relief drugs, non-necessary drugs, etc. The clients of GENERICS+100 are largely commercial but there is an increasing share of the domestic market for healthcare related products that have not normally been in the product portfolio. GENERICS+100 owns a subsidiary in France that produces a small number of specialized healthcare products. Because of the different regulatory systems in different countries, GENERICS+100 is struggling to turn a profit as many locations restrict the sale of generic drugs which is GENERICS+100's core business. Last year, the firm was able to raise $US 620,000,000 in research and development loans from investors. Senior management is now looking for new and innovative projects that the Company could implement to produce new profit and income streams. You have been hired as a consultant to advise GENERICS+100 on managing its projects and working out how best to spend their R&D loans.
