Executive Summary

Health care is a significant service that is almost part of billions of humans living on this planet. Services and facilities related to health care touch all individuals at different time in different circumstances (Birth, death illness). In recent years, technological advancements and technological related breakthroughs has substantially changed the perspective and practices of delivering health care services. Miracles in modern technologies are taking place almost every day. Pharmaceuticals companies and governments are spending a big portion of their earning on technological developments. Improvements in health care industry are taking place because of established research and development departments of several companies (Walrath 2007, p. 17) Businesses are also growing and making sufficient profits by offering new and efficient equipments to the markets.

Despite the fact that such improvements in the health care industry has improved the quality of general citizens, but there are some policy, quality and cost related issues associated with such developments (Walrath , 2007, p. 18 ). These issues must be answered in ordered to maximize the social welfare derived from any development taking place in the field of medical innovation. Considerable boost in the cost of health care facilities and related equipment have placed a significant stress on the service providers and governments to implement certain regulations. The cost of offering certain health care services that utilizes highly sophisticated technologies are creating financial burden for households, tax payers and care providers.

This report examines a project plan to introduce and implement technological equipment in a local hospital that currently lacked such technologies. We are going to discuss the advantages and specifications related to different technologies offer under the new investment decisions. Later, details regarding the cost and cash flows associated with such investment decision are also discussed. This report explains the role of identified technologies in improving the health of individuals and how competitive they are in terms of money and benefits being delivered.

First Part

We begin our plan with a review of technologies that we are planning to introduce in the hospitals, and also determine the cost associate with each investment.

Internet Access

To enhance and increase the efficiency of employees and paramedical staff, we are going to provide speedy access of internet. Stakeholders can access our internet having searching speed of 20 mega bytes per second to control their activities.. We are planning to get out internet services from TPG internet, Dodo internet and Virgin internet. Research for Proposal has been sent to these three suppliers, and selection will be made based on the least bid. Expected cost of providing internet (20 MBPS) is $400 per year (Brigham, Houston, 2012, p. 349).

Mobile Architect In order to ensure the availability of a surgeon, doctor etc we are planning to implement mobile architecture technology in the workplace.
