A state agency based in Florida that is operating for juvenile male detention centers is well known as Florida Department of Juvenile Justice. The headquarters of this agency is in Tallahassee (Knight Building).

The mission of Florida Department of Juvenile Justice is:

“To enhance and maintain public safety through reduction in juvenile delinquency by effective intervention, treatment and prevention services, which can help in strengthening families and bring improvement in the lives of our youth.

Currently, Florida Department of Juvenile Justice institution is arranging prevention, intervention and treatment programs for the youth of Florida in which 6,643 children are participating each day. The agency is intervening with more than 75,000 referred juvenile individuals every year and still another 40,000 youth are still at risk.
