Course Description

The health care planning includes essential principles and procedures that occur in the healthcare settings. It also includes the ethical issues that occur during the course of study. Besides this planning and health care issues that are gaining importance now days should be the part of planning it includes electronic health record practice; as this has captured the health care practitioners attention now days.

Management of Electronic Health Record

Electronic records in medical practice is areas of focus for most of the health practitioners so as to give awareness to the students it is necessary to understand the present concepts that are important at present. The information regarding Health is linked with many different sources in this recent technology. It includes computerized healthcare data that gives electronic health record from different sources. In this computerized record, all the information regarding health is complied and documented for quick access. Professionals of electronic health information will be educated in the management and implementation of electronic health information using HL7, DICOM and CDISC which are general electronic systems for data interchange. This learning program will include the legal, medical, regulatory and accreditation requirements inclusive of needs for the electronic health database in healthcare practice. All the professionals and learners will be appropriate to appear in the NHA i.e. National Health career Association which is CEHRS i.e. Certified Electronic Health Record Specialist exam when they successfully complete this learning program.

Course Objectives and Goals

The major objective and goal of the course is to acquire the new technology in the health care system. It also adopts the latest strategies of computer assessment as to monitor health records. This program planning helps the students to identify the role of new technology in adopting the electronic health record in order to make effective and efficient communications with the patients.

Instructional Plan for Healthcare Course

The instructional plan depicts that for delivering the idea of electronic health record th students will make small groups. The technique of large group and small group is administered in class discussions. So in order to achieve desired results the students will be divided in small group and this topic is introduced in different group of students. There will be five to eight students in each group and they are free to express the topic. They are also given freedom to adopt any kind of resources they wanted to adopt for portraying this idea of Electronic Health Record Management in healthcare settings. Students will be given ideal time duration of 60 Minutes for the preparation for this idea. They are free to use reference materials, textbooks, websites, audiovisuals, props, flipcharts, simulations, software and lab equipments will be the media and material that will be used to plan and deliver the topic.
