The subject is a recent graduate from a nursing school, assuming that you have recently complete your nursing education and now hold a professional nursing degree in your hand. So far you have been doing really well throughout your education path and also a little clinical exposure after completing training at a local hospital. You have always been updated in acquiring current knowledge about the nursing profession as well as advancements in health care settings. Your past working experience is an internship as a nursing assistant in a community health setting dealing particularly with aging and geriatrics people. After graduation and holding the degree in your hand the first task was to apply for a proper full time job in a hospital of good standing. It was your first day and you are going through the hospitals new staff orientation process. After filling out all the pre requisites as a new employee, the orientation team made a formal introduction of all the new employees hired in your appointed department and then the new employees went for the clinical orientation. Though all this was not new for you as you already had a little professional experience but still it is one of the best ways of knowing the new appointments and establishing communication within. After the general and clinical orientation the new employed nurses were directed to meet the Nursing Professional Development Specialist, also known as Nurse Educator (Swihart, 2009). This is the right person to guide you all through the clinical settings and clinical workings with very sound knowledge, sharing live experiences, giving you tips on how easily you can stand firm at your job station and of course the transfer of encouragement which will drag you more into the power and will to work like a professional (Puetz, 2013).

The Nurse Educator then takes you round through the entire department and calla for an introductory session with your preceptor. The Nurse Educator is also a permanent member of department's career development team. On a daily basis the registered nurses, nurse educators and preceptors have morning meetings to discuss the working, progress, working on the new position, an open evaluation of the staff competencies and area of improvements. After the evaluation and assessment the nurse educator will decide what level of training you need to fulfill your job responsibilities, the nature of resources and support your require in the execution of clinical job and the success of adaptation and implementation of allocated resources.
