Productive Behavior and Counterproductive Behavior
There is a lot of difference between the productive and the counterproductive employ behavior prevails in the organization. They had a very important impact on the business. First we have to discuss how we define the productive behavior, and what can be characterized as counterproductive behavior. Both of these behaviors play a very important role in the way organization operates (Bechtoldt et al, 2007). They also represent to a certain extent the psychology of the organization. When an organization allows itself to absorb both of these behaviors, it can have a positive impact on the way organization operates (Bechtoldt et al, 2007). Both of these behaviors are somewhat completely opposite to each other. Productive behavior talks about the behavior that increases the productivity (Bechtoldt et al, 2007). When an employee is said to be performing in synch with the goals and objectives of the organization, it might be termed as productive behavior. It stimulates aids and someway encourage the organization in its purpose, and as the name suggest, the counterproductive behavior dampens the productivity of the organization. The counterproductive behavior may be termed as behavior that simultaneously runs in the organization to curtail the achievement of the goals of the organization (Bechtoldt et al, 2007). This can take many forms, like alcohol and drug consumption, stealing, harassment as well as employ absenteeism. This can lead to ineffective performance (Bechtoldt et al, 2007). Both of these behaviors exist in the organization and they can have a strong impact on its success or failure.
Impact of Productive and Counterproductive Behaviors on Job Performance
Even if an organization does not want to, it some way or another effected by the performance of its employs. Obviously, the productive workers increase the synergy so they have a positive impact; while on the other hand, the counterproductive employ leaves a bad taste in the mouth (Bechtoldt et al, 2007). The performance of the entity depends a lot on them. Any business wants to increase the value for its stakeholders, so it always needs and wants productive employs. If the employs are counterproductive than it may have a detrimental effect.
