Elevation of the productivity of business in United Kingdom depends majorly on efficient modern buildings, improved and superior transport communication and infrastructure. At the same time, development and expansion of schools, social housing and hospitals as well as the establishment of high quality community and public transport system all depends on delivery of successful projects by the construction industry. In the fields of civil engineering and architecture, construction is a method that entails assembling and building of infrastructure.

One of the biggest industries in United Kingdom is the Construction Industry. According to Department of trade output of construction industry has increased by 2.04% between 1995 and 2006 (Abdel-Wahab et al., 2008, p.1). Besides construction, the implications of lean production also beneficial for adopting the construction process in a regular manner. United Kingdom's construction industry provided around 2.04 million jobs in the workforce and represented 6.4% of all workforce jobs.

Nature of Production in Construction

Construction industry is among the biggest and dynamic industry in different parts of the world (Behm, M., 2008, p.175). Nature of production in construction has categorized in three step system which helpful for the constructor to obtain accurate results without any lacking strategy. Construction activity can be put into three most important types of work that is residential (building houses and other suburban projects) building, infrastructure and non-residential buildings.

The core of nature of production philosophy is in the surveillance that circulates with two significant production aspects such as flow and conversions. The remaining activities have added the time, cost and energy, but the conversion includes the value of the piece or material that has used for in any construction process. In control, design and recovery of the production process both methods are highly influential that provides affluent outcomes. The above diagram defines the step wise methods which require a systematic series and regular pattern.
