Abstract

Healthcare administrators are hired on the senior position of any pharmaceutical company, hospital etc. Their responsibility is to manage all areas of the particular organization by planning proper strategies. Along with their management they face a lot of problems, and there is a strong need for a proper planning to avoid all such problems. Gender discrimination is also a problem faced by female administrators in the healthcare industry. Survey shows that they are always on lower salaries and on a lower designation than men despite the fact that they are equal in qualification, age and experience. Violence is also observed in the healthcare industry which can be of any type and it can be prevented by developing some strict rules and policies. Problem of cost management is also prevailing which needs to be managed by setting up new teams and making up new policies. Profit and finance management are the issue which can be resolved by the use of new software which can save time as well as money. Unavailability of healthcare professionals is also a big issue which can be resolved by introducing faster methods of recruitment and by increasing awareness of the benefits of the healthcare industry. Lack of IT solution and technology is also becoming a major issue for the healthcare industry and administrators as well. By making use of IT and increasing its budget can be very helpful in data handling and management. Supply chain management is an also a challenge for administrators and by implementing on a number of ways like bonding strategy, proper medication, interaction with physicians, use of technology and evaluation process.

Introduction

Health care is the service provided by the medical professionals who are able to cure, prevent and manage the physical or mental illness. Health care administrator is one who frames and organizes the pharmaceutical companies, government health departments, health conferences and training sessions. The administrator is always appointed on a senior post and should at least have a master's degree and good organizational skills. A healthcare administrator has to monitor the activities of all the healthcare staff and coordinate with them. In order to keep things managed, they have to create some work plans or strategies which they implement on their concerned organization. An administrator also focuses on the budget, communication, marketing and scheduling of the business. As a healthcare administrator has to focus on a large field, he also faces a lot of problems and issues which can be solved through proper planning and goal setting etc. According to a survey that was conducted by the American college of Hospital Administrators in the year 1990, the biggest issue, which is faced by the healthcare administrators is the management of business and finance matters of the organization(Prall 1948).
