Meaning of Probation

The word probation in the literal sense means behaviour testing or capabilities. Where we come towards the legal meaning, the offender who is on probation is given instruction to proceed with respect to certain conditions that are court places usually under the supervision of an officer that deals with probation. Probation with respect to work also has significance. Probationary period is a period during which the employer verifies the professional and business qualities of the employee received. Thesis statement of this paper is “Does the word probation explain its literal meaning, or it has changed?”(Douglas, 2007).
