Introduction

This assignment will briefly describe the organizations and missions of Google, Facebook and Twitter. It will then throw light on the similarities and differences among the organizations' privacy policies. Lastly, recommendations will be made on the privacy policies of the three companies.

Google Inc. was founded on the 27the day of September in the year1998 in the Silicon Valley in California. The founders of the search engine Google are Larry Page and Sergey Bring. Google is primarily known because of the monopoly that it holds in the market of the search engine. Google has historically competed AltaVista, as well as, Bing and Yahoo!, but also some of its flagship software, such as Google Earth , Google Maps or system operation for mobile phones Android , as well as by the fact that the company counts among its flagship site online video sharing YouTube .

The mission of Google's is to make available and organize the world's information and make it universally accessible, as well as, useful for all. Until 4 April 2011, Eric Schmidt remained the CEO. He was later replaced by Larry Page.

Google has become one of the leading U.S. and global companies in its development, a few years after entry into original business. In early 2008, it was worth 210 billion dollars to Wall Street. The total number of employees of the company total more than 50,000 as of the year 2012. Most of the workers of Google are situated at the world headquarters of Google, which is the Googleplex in Mountain View in California.

Google is amongst the largest companies in the global market of the internet and is one with Apple, Facebook and Amazon.com. There was a fleet of more than 90,000 servers in 2011against 400,000 in 2006, which has made it the world's largest server farm, with devices distributed at 32 sites. More than 1000 billion of web pages were indexed by the search engine Google in 2008. Google represented 6.4% of global Internet traffic in the year 2008 and displayed a higher growth of the web.

Google provides many free software and services (email, blog, video, office suite, and photo). However, there were many incidents in which there were increasingly growing situation of privacy concerns and monopoly issues, right from the casual user to some large and powerful organizations. Several lawsuits have also been filed against Google which includes several cases of compatibility of Google books, as well as, many other copyright issues.

The flaws and lack of neutrality were highlighted on technical potential tracing employed by Google, Google Watch, which is a site of American activist Daniel Brandt. He showed the flaws in the privacy that is offered by Google. Google also offers a proxy by the name of Scroogle, which is used to submit a Google search without being watched by anyone in any way.
