Introduction

From past few months, the craze for the Google glasses seems to be increasing in the market. The biggest search engine of the world Google explained the different specification regarding the software, hardware and other features that Google glasses will hold apart from the privacy policy regarding the fair usage of the technology. With the development of Google glasses, different concerns have been raised by the analysts and the market experts regarding the privacy policy of this technology. The privacy concerns discussed by the different experts reveals that the device consists of a build in camera which can any time take photos and shoot videos without the consent of others. This topic is quite debatable and being discussed among the different experts these days (Anonymous, 2013).

There is no doubt that the concern regarding the privacy issues are quite severe. The research shows that in case of the security failure, the technology of Google glasses can threat the privacy of the owner. In case the Google glasses are hacked then it can become a great problem for the owner itself. The entire data stored on this device can be accessed by another person. Since the device consists of a built in the camera it can capture each and everything carried out in the surrounding. The glasses records the everyday activity of the user even the passwords and details regarding the credit cards. Once the data is hacked by the hackers then they can access the entire confidential data of the user. This may result in horrible results. This device can be used to shoot anything in the public. Hence this raises the issue regarding the privacy concerns for the public (Anonymous, 2013).

After the release of the Google glasses, different backlashes started against the technology. It was also banned in some clubs and cafes in the Silicon Valley. The device was banned by such clubs as it was assumed that it would capture the private moments. The concerns regarding the privacy policy of the Google glasses is same that were raised in the past for the cell phones when camera was introduced in it. In past different voices were raised against the presence of the camera in the cell phones as one of the major privacy concern. The cases were also reported where the people were asked to switch off their cell phones due to the security and privacy reasons in some public place however the people started becoming comfortable with this technology after some time (Alleman, 2013). Privacy concerns seem to be heightened by the competitor after the emergence of the technology of Google glass. However, this is a natural phenomenon that will become normal as people will become used to the effectiveness of this technology.
