TASK 1: EXCEL SPREADSHEET

Difference of Embedding and Linking

The basic difference between the concept of embedding an object, a chart in this case, or linking an object lies in the source of data storage and whether or not it will be updated if changed are made in the actual object. If a chart is embedded into the word document, it will not be updated if the source table, from where the data is being used for the creation of the chart, is updated; however, if the chart is linked, the chart will be updated in accordance with the changes made in the source table.

The tables are presented on the next page.

TASK 2: ACCESS DATABASE

Database Plan in Word

Purpose of Database

Databases are designed for the purpose of managing information. The three main purposes of databases are to organizing, storing and most importantly retrieving the information in the manner required. The efficiency of the database to store data will be of no use if it fails to retrieve the information when required. Thus, a database should have the capacity to store, organize and retrieve information as per requirements.

The tables used for the purpose of designing database are presented on the next page.
