Leadership is an intuitive quality of an individual; it is not something that could be taught in schools or colleges. It could rightly be said that leadership is truly based on a very complex phenomena. Those who succeed to understand this phenomenon are one of the most successful leaders of the world. Leadership is something that is required in every field and aspect of life where it is family, country or in business, there is a need of a good leader everywhere, for the betterment of the ways the situations are handled. Especially in business, cause sometimes it is the business that is serving for both family and even country. This research report provides the evaluation of some of the major theories regarding leadership. It also includes some of the strategies, findings and theories that are empirical to leadership. To be specific this report includes the theories of (Bennis and Nanus, 1985) from their article, “Conspiracy of claim”. In this article, they have enlisted some strategies and qualities that a good leader should posses. We will support their strategies using some real world examples. In the second part of our paper, we will be writing the statements to support the strategies proposed by Kouzes and Posner regarding, the duties of a good leader, we will illustrate their strategy a bit more, in order to get a more clear idea of what they wanted to state in their theory regarding leadership. Finally, we will also include few other articles regarding leadership. So, that we can have a clear idea of what are the qualities that are required for a leader to become great? Once he is a great leader, what steps should he take to guarantee a successful carrier for himself and for his business?
Introduction
The definition of leadership has been changing from time to time. In my opinion the most general definition of leadership was given by (Boles & Davenport, 1975). According to them; leadership is just an initiative taken by individual possessing leadership qualities, in which he assists a group of people working inside an organization to produce the goals, set by the leader, the most essential job of the leader is to maintain people those are included in the project, along with that he should influence other skilled personnel's in understanding his point of view. According to (burns, 1978) leadership is of two types.Transactional leadership
This type of leadership involves an individual, who has taken the initiative to make a contact with a group of people; he does this for the purpose of exchange of some valued essentials.Transformational leadership
In this form of leadership, one person leads a group of people and makes them follow his vision and idea. It is the job of this person to achieve success working with his selected group of people, through his leadership techniques.
