In his speech President Obama said, “Yet, every so often, the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms.” How are the problems that faced President Lincoln and President Obama similar?

The problems faced by President Obama and President Lincoln seem to be similar in a manner that for developed countries problems are usually similar. For instance, the maintenance of proper economy, educational and health facilities provision, creating job opportunities always remain the basic problems for the presidents. However, President Obama is faced with several other problems like terrorism and extreme economic pressures.

Quoting from one of his earlier speeches, what did President Lincoln have to say about the institution of slavery?

President Lincoln was extremely against the institution of slavery. He used to believe that every human being possess the basic right to live his or her life freely. The institution of slavery remains against the basic and natural rights human beings possess (www.bartleby.com).

The arguments made by President Lincoln in relation with separation means that he was of the opinion that the United States of America cannot be separated physically.
