Abstract
The presences of a family member during the resuscitation are known to gain popularity and it is considered to be a debatable topic. The presences of family are being supported in recent years and policies on the presences of family are therefore, becoming a necessity. The primary aim of this study is to combine the quantitative and qualitative research articles to describe the view points of the health care professionals, patients and members of family who are either absent or present during CPR to inspect the consequences and benefits of the presences of family. A computerized search of literature was conducted including MEDLINE and CINAHL databases using key words such as emergency department, invasive procedures, resuscitative events, CPR, resuscitation, and family presence. The review of literature consists of 7 studies as these were available and were known to be published within the last few decades and were primarily peer reviewed. The perspective of the presences of family was both beneficial and positive. The providers of healthcare possess opposing views on the presence of family but their acceptance of practices are boosting. Recommendations for further research comprise of larger sizes of sample and more phenomenological and experimental researches that can result insights of deeper family presence.

The presences of family during CPR, along with generating the spirited, and supported attention debates still remains a notorious practice among professionals of healthcare. There are numerous organizations such as American Heart Association, and the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACCN), has endorsed the practice, however many other departments of emergency usually do not permit family presence routinely (Williams, 2002; Emergency Nurses Association, ...
