Notion of the self in Buddhism and the Abrahamic religions:

In Buddhism there are five aggregates which include form which is in physical terms. Sensation is in terms of our feelings that can include emotions, physical feelings or our sense. Perception relates to our ability to think. Mental formations involves our habits, prejudices and sensitivities. Consciousness means our awareness of or sensitivity to an object (Payne, 2006).

The buddhists belief that there is no self wh9ich means no permanet identity but they belief that we are reborn after death. When a death occurs in this world the last moment of consciousness gives rise to another moment of consciousness elsewhere that begins to take form as a new personality. It is neither the same nor different from the personality that was present before, it is simply the causal connection that leads from one moment to the next.

Christianity says that human are irreparably not perfect at all, an evildoer, separated from God and missing all Divinity, and one who cannot even protect his own self.  Still the Almighty has love for him and that is why Christ was sent by him showing His love through which man can also strive for redemption.

The religion also believes in having love for each and every individual human being even if it's an enemy rather than only friends.

Christianity

Even in Christianity the moral principles were based on 'golden rule', to benefit the mankind. Asceticism has been rejected in Christianity as well. The way of worshipping in Christianity is also almost the similar as in Buddhism. The same preaching is also given in Christianity to have love for the entire mankind even for your own enemies as well. (Paul, 2002)

Difference between Buddhism and Christianity:

The initial Buddhist philosophy does not entail any Godly figures, while, the Buddhist Buddhist that came later did introduce some godly figures. Buddhism says that one is responsible for his own deeds and cannot blame anyone else for not stopping him from any sinful event.
