Introduction

A state in which an individual lacks an absolute amount of money or any material possession is commonly known as poverty. Likewise, the deprivation of human needs (basic ones) and those needs includes food, water, health, shelter, sanitation, clothing and proper education refers to the term absolute poverty or destitution. Moreover, contextually as a disparity in an economy of a location or society in which people live defined as relative poverty. The following paper discusses the social issue from a sociological aspect.

Poverty - A Social Issue

Poverty is a social issue because it affects the society as a whole and if a person found a problem in a society which is also grounding mammoth amount of problems in the society along with costing a bulk amount of money per year then it will consider as an issue that affects all. The most common example of this social issue is when examining the most of the crimes, except of the so called white collar ones most of them are committed by the people who are from the under privileged backgrounds (Shah, 2013). Hence, it will remain in the category of the social issue because it is causing affect to the public who are paying the tax.

Therefore, it has been observed by the sociological researches that the issue does not lies with in the curse called poverty but it actually lies with in the various social standards that we have made in our society in which we are living. Like how will a person access himself in a relation to others and in inequality between them? It is a fact that, equality is a decree of nature but if there is more equality seen in a society that society will eventually face more problems such as; depression, drugs, crimes, chaos and etc. ...
