Abstract

Pornography has become a massive industry covering every part of the world and inflicting all the societies. It is studied that the damages of pornography are extremely harmful and vicious, causing breakage in relationships and stress in the society. Men in the society are more common and large users of pornography and it has been seen that with the increase in number of consumer and profits to this business, the number of violence cases against women have increased with rising family issues, teen age pregnancies and broken marriages are directly related to the cause. The research paper further discusses some key factors, which can become essential for breaking the habit of pornography in individual and families.

In today's world, the openness of sexually explicit content has become ordinary and acceptable in many societies. What was once, just a practice or a taboo in a minute part of the world is now available openly and majorly to the whole world in almost every society.

The term pornography is not little or small anymore, it is defined by psychologists, as a material which can be in a written, graphic or many other forms of communication which provides a stimulation for excitement and motivation for lascivious or immoral feelings, behavior and activities (Goldstein, Michael, 1973). Pornography generally appeals and attracts to those who have a desire for quick sexual indulgence with an expense of a minimum emotional investment.

Today, the depictions relating to explicit sexual contents are viewed by using print and electronic media. A wide range of explicit material is available on magazines, video cassettes, dvd films and live on stage. A large hub of all these activities is available on the internet, which is most commonly the largest port for pornography and explicit material. Millions and millions of websites are loose free on the internet and can be accessed from anywhere and anytime.

Men are by large the main users of purchasing and producing such activities, making it a regular business in the society. Over time, pornography has increasing business and has become a whole world of industry. While the business has become so large that, it is generating huge revenues and profits for the producers. The actors, people who perform, are paid heavily for their vulgar and immoral stunts and activities, remaining socially acceptable.

The purchase of pornography is growing at a rapid pace because of many reasons, like, influence and acceptability in the society, conscious and unconscious viewing of explicit material, dissatisfaction, gratification, obsession with sex, and the most disgusting of all, the purpose of controlling or manipulating women.
