Anarchists are definitely not utopian in seeking the abolition of the state. At the very outset, it's important to understand what anarchism is. “Anarchism is a political ideology that believes in the liberty of masses from the political dominion and exploitation by the powerful” (Kinna, 2005). The anarchists believe that the state uses its undue power and force to crush the masses so the only solution is the abolition of the state. “It is believed that state exists to maintain inequality through two ways which are exploitation and alienation”. Anarchists are ones who reject and discard the state on the basis that it is unnecessary and useless (Kinna, 2005).

“These notions created by the anarchists are irrational and do not lead towards utopia. In order to achieve a balance between the two extremes of life which are the rich and the poor, the powerful and the powerless or the strong and the weak”. State is formed out of the same people who were once the masses. It is true that state often exploits its own people through force but abolition of the state is not the ideal option. The anarchists employ strategies to achieve their aim, which is abolition of the state (Kinna, 2005).

“The anarchist fuels the revolution to achieve emancipation from the oppression of the ruler or the state” (Plechanoff, 2009).

There is never a perfect case scenario in this world. In order to understand the view point of anarchists, we need to consider several things. At the very outset, abolition of state is not an ideal situation because of the following reasons. “The abolition of state is achieved through revolutions and insurrectional strategies where the use of arms, protest, and hungers strikes is used against the state”. This is a long process because to abolish a running government is not an easy task. It requires hard efforts to change the entire system. “Considering the case of Syrian crisis since 2011, we can witness the atrocities if the masses in their way towards abolition of the monarchic government”. This shows that anarchists are not utopian in seeking the abolition of the state. The revolution against the state is fuelled and converted into a rebellious protest through the foreign agents such as agent provocateurs (Plechanoff, 2009).

But, now let's consider the need of anarchists to pursue such a path which is the abolition of the state. The oppression and exploitation of the people by the state has forced people to overthrow the governments and seek abolition of the state. But what does the abolition of the state lead towards? This is the question that needs to be answered before pursuing this aim. If the answer is clear and guarantees that the liberty and rights of people will be secured in the future, then it can be closer to a utopia.
