Policy Recommendations for Community Based Corrections Practitioners

Identify at least four clearly defined issues in community-based corrections.

The four clear issues to be presented that are existent in the community include things like aggressive behavior of adolescents between 12 and 18 who meet criminal sanctions measures in the Judicial Circuit State, consumption of snuff, injection of illegal drugs, along with having a criminal family background.

Discuss the problems presented by each of these issues.

Aggression is any form of behavior that is done with the intent to injure or harm another person, which the other tries to avoid. Aggression has become a problem that every day has more impact on our society due to increased frequency and generates adverse consequences. While adults usually lead the way discriminated aggression toward family members or acquaintances, male adolescents often directed towards people little known or even to strangers. Aggression and anger in children and adolescents has achieved greater recognition as a generator of negative effects on both the individual and society at large, as evidenced by high rates of aggression in children and adolescents. The range of aggressive behavior in children and adolescents can include aggression, physical , outbursts of anger, fights, attempts or attempts to hurt others, use of weapons , cruelty toward animals , cause fires , intentional destruction of property and vandalism (Dusenbery, David, 2009).

Various mechanisms have been postulated etiologic aggression, biological, psychological, social, and cultural among others. The biological mechanisms maintain that aggression stems from a damage category. Among the biological causes can be found in various clinical entities which may be present violence and aggression, as in the problems of development, metabolic abnormalities in neurological disorders in alcohol poisoning or substances, etc. Consumers of large doses of alcohol, psychological decompensation can pr esentar episodic (Dusenbery, David, 2009). After drinking alcohol or psychoactive substances, the probability of committing assault and homicides greatly increases. Aggression as the model of frustration is a necessary antecedent frustration. The frustration involves blocking situations, threatening and deprivation which arise as a response to both internal and external stimuli. Some people may be more prone to feelings and actions of an aggressive than others innately, but the constant aggression is more common in people who have grown up under adverse conditions of constant frustration, so have had to develop defensive aggression, aggression becomes a derivative of hostility and resentment. When the person does not reach an agreement needs are not frustrated and output prospects can hardly stop a dynamic aggressive (Martin, Pear, 2007).

Meanwhile, for the theory behavioral aggressiveness is determined primarily by environmental factors present and the relationship of these to behavior. In this sense the variable determinants of aggression can be classified depending on the type of conditioning made, respondent or operant.
