Introduction

The aim of this research paper is to provide information regarding the issue of terrorism that is being faced by citizens of almost all of the countries around the globe. The paper will mostly highlight the issues of policy concern and terrorism in the region of United States. The issue of terrorism is extremely important in today's world because of the increase in terrorism activities which involve the risk of lives of human beings.

It becomes important for governments and law making authority to take measures in order to reduce and eliminate the threat of terrorism from around the globe. Fighting against terrorism is obviously not an easy task and requires many strategies in order to achieve the ultimate goal of eliminating terrorism.

Discussion

Meaning of Domestic Terrorism

In past couple of years, the meaning and concept of the domestic terrorism has modified. Not only has the concept of domestic terrorism changed over the past years, but also the acts regarding the domestic violence have also been modified as people are using different kinds of strategies and techniques in order to terrorize people. In 1994, the Terrorist Research and Analytical centre of the FBI has introduced a memorandum under which the definition of the meaning of domestic terrorism legally is included. It defines terrorism as an unethical and unlawful act that forces violence which two or more people commit (group) in opposition to a person or a group of individuals for either direct or indirect objectives (political, economical, social etc) (Pollock, 2010).

At present, the law of the United States of America has applied the act of USA Patriot, which is against the domestic violence. Under this act, any person or a group of people perform an act against someone which is dangerous, for the human life comes under the violation of the United Sates criminal laws. Any person who has a coercive action against the population or even by affecting the citizens of the state with weapons, mass destructive elements, assassination or even kidnapping is working against the laws of the criminal acts (Jeffrey 2003).

Extremist in United States of America

In United States, many extremist groups are causing panic and chaos to all over the country. The extremist groups in America are mainly includes those individuals who are either against the country or its government. Effects of extremism are on the basis of the political aggression or even on the basis of rivalry among different people. People also become extremists due to personal conflicts that become more severe and eventually force the person to perform such acts (Brent, 1994).

In the beginning, the hatred shown by the extremist group had a limit, as it was confined within its own vicinity, but now with the popularity of the Internet the impact on these extremist groups are widespread. With the help of Internet, the extremist and terrorists are now getting a broader view to spread their message all across the world.
