Introduction

This paper intends to discuss the different poems and the impressions taken from the stories being depicted in those poems. The most important poems which are selected are written by Kate Chopin, Goodman Brown, Alice Walker and many others. Kate Chopin has the ability to make the reader empathizes with the characters. The style of Kate Chopin's writing conveys conflicting emotions that are complex in nature very easily. Kate Chopin has used various symbols in both the stories to convey the emotional aspects of the characters used in the Story of an hour. Kate Chopin highlights 'hope' in her writing (Kate, Edmund & Per, 2006).

“Writing about Stories”

Writing about stories revolve around the most important concept of understanding the narratives clearly and then making the correct selection of words in order to summarize or provide a brief overview of the stories being chosen.

“Nathaniel Hawthorne's Young Goodman Brown”

The story revolves around Goodman Brown and his wife Faith. Goodman Brown has left Faith for unknown errands within the forests. The story depicts the underlying problems the wife faces and the consequences of losing faith and hope. The story seems to be depressing and presents the relative narratives (Wajnyrb, 2003).

“Raymond Carver's Cathedral”

Cathedral also provides the essence of hope within the story. Cathedral remains the basic place where people tend to get together and pray for the purpose of spreading hope and happiness all around. Raymond Carver is essentially creating such ideas which are important in the vague of suggesting hope through the narratives.
