Introduction

Plagiarism is the deliberate copying of someone else's work and claiming it's yours, by turning it in and not giving credit that's due. Whether it has been copied off an encyclopedia article or someone's published essay or research, to steal and pass it as your own is an offence. Taking someone's idea and representing it as your own, without giving credit to the source, providing incorrect information about the source of a quote and even changing the sentence by rewriting without giving credit is theft.
