Thesis Statement

This paper supports the argument of the existence and purpose of human life, and the extent of freedom and power does the human possess in this universe. Moreover, it defines the how philosophy interrelated with science.

Analysis and Explanation

Asking the meaning of life is to question what is the purpose of the human existence; if there is a reason for our existence, if it is not just a cluster of events, it is worth it or if it has some meaning and context attached to it. When it says “be looking for the meaning of life”, it is most possibly referring to something that has meaning which was designed according to particular purpose (Ventegodt et al., 2003). Thus, the meaning of a word or phrase is what it means, the meaning of an object is that for what it is intended to serve, the meaning of a work of art is what the author wants to express, etc.

As soon as a person opens his or her eyes to the world, the first that that crosses their mind is that whether there is any purpose of their creation. One thing that always ponder human mind is that what is the purpose of his creation. Are human beings there for a particular reasons or something higher to achieve or they are just a thing that have happened and there is no context added to it (Jorgen, 2003). These are some of the things that are needed to be looked at. Now if there is any context attached to their creation, then the first thing that must cross their mind is that whether they are in a position to make their own decisions. Do they have the freedom to carve their own path or they just have to follow what is being expected from them (Warren, 2002).

Religion is based on general human openness to a transcendent reality and absolute, generating hope of salvation and intends to reveal to man his ultimate meaning. It is therefore the absolute and ultimate meaning of life and not pragmatic sense, relative or partial; it is to accept that God is the Supreme Sense, which gives direction to all the senses (Ventegodt et al., 2003). The religion says that man will find the meaning of their existence on faith in God and that life does not end with death, and that this is, under certain conditions, the path to a happier existence and full.

Kierkegaard, father of existentialism, said that human existence is only true if an authentic relationship with God. Without God, man (man = reality which mingles two vectors: finite and infinite) is doomed to despair. But the single life wasted is who lived so deceived by the pleasures and pitfalls of life.
