I would like to bring to the attention of the concerned authorities towards a very serious social problem, being faced by our school through the most read column of your newspaper. Our School “The National High School” has been facing the issues due to the availability of limited parking space for the students, their parents and drivers. Over the past few years, it has been continuously reported by the students and their parents that they have to face serious issues in this regard, yet no step has been taken so far.
At present, the school offers a parking lot of 20 cars for the students or their parents/drivers. The number of cars which could be parked there is clearly very less as compared to the number of students enrolled in the school; according to the recent statistics provided by the admission office, there are nearly 1500 students enrolled in different classes. Out of these 1500, only 400 students avail the transport facility being provided by the school (there is a separate parking space available for the school vans and staff cars). Clearly, it is not possible for every student to avail the transport facility of school, or the transport facility provided by the city or state. Most parents wish to provide their children with the facility of their own conveyance. As a result, according to a rough estimate, 1000 students drive to school and back to their homes using their own cars. Also, it is a fact that any car has to wait for about an average of 5 minutes before a child can come and sit in his car.
