Personal Statement

My name is Bashayer and I am currently enrolled in BSc. Community Nutrition program from which I would be graduating in July 2014. The degree is something that is very dear to me and the program is something that I chose with my own wish as it would give a chance to apply to the field of medicine which is my ultimate aim of life. I am pursuing this degree with all my efforts and will as I wish that I can graduate with extremely good results so that when I apply in a medical school, things are paved for me and I do not have to face any difficulty in terms of grades and transcripts. A good result is going to ensure a smooth way ahead for my aim when I opt for medical schools next year.

I am primarily a hard working person and have worked through sheer hard work all my life. Starting from my basic school to my high school which played an important role in paving my way to the current degree that I am enrolled in, I made sure that I study in the best way possible to produce excellent results and always succeeded in doing so as well. From the very beginning I knew my interest in the field of medicine and I had decided at a very early stage that I would become a doctor. It is not an easy feat and one has to maintain extremely good grades, especially in science subjects. Through my hard work, I always succeeded in bagging great marks in science subjects and excelled in them. Biology was and is my most favourite subject and it is a good thing as it is going to make me excel better in the field that I have chosen for myself.

I am a very proactive person and throughout my school life, I made sure that I participated in any event that was being held in our school. Challenges are something that I have great acceptance for and it pleases me to accept a challenge and prove my potential in different walks of life. This helps me gauge my standing and makes me prepare for the future. The top competitions that I entered during my school life were “Brain Wave Mental Competition”, a competition that was held on national level in high schools. In the competition I showed great results and came to know my standing and how strong I am mentally.

Another competition in which I participated was an Animal Embalming competition. This competition was very interesting for me as it was a domain of biology, my favourite subject. In the competition, I learned about the body organs of animal, giving me a better view about the anatomy of animals, their similarities and their differences. The competition added a lot to my knowledge that was not only handy, but interesting as well. Till today, I retain the information and make use of it whenever required.
