Personal Statement

I work in surgical ward for a year now dealing with various complicated health diseases. Mainly my ward caters elective cases such as hip, knee and arm replacement operating procedures. Most of my patients have chronic health issues; most common ailments include heart, lung and liver problems and similar other issues. This is a small summation of my professional experience as an employee at NHS. Moreover, this experience has made me look for more challenges in a professional environment. This drive to be able to meet critical challenges head on makes me want to work in an operation theatre environment. Further, to become a certified surgical staff it is important that an individual is able to make precise decisions in a time adverse situation within a controlled environment. This is a place where there is no room for mistakes.

I aspire to pursue the best training available so that I get necessary abilities, skills and certifications to work with the best surgeons in the healthcare centers in the UK. Such experiences will further bolster my professional accomplishments as well as fulfill my long coveted goal of becoming a surgeon.

It is important to set goals before getting on with life. My aim, determination and interest towards healthcare made me set a dream to become a surgeon from an early age. I received the inspiration from my grandfather who used to tell me the pros and cons of this profession. The stories and the cases he shared with me increased my interest towards the profession. In the future I see myself as a general surgeon. Of course this can be accomplished if I pursue further education in the field.
