Personal statement

My name is ___________ and I have recently graduated as an associate in nursing from a well known college of my state. Now I am planning to apply for MSN which has been my dream, ever since I was a kid. I have been asked to write a personal statement that would define me and my ambitions. I am trying to convey my educational background, my future goals, and myself as a professional nurse through the following paper.

When I was a kid I wanted to make a difference in people's live. Watching the unhealthy, poor and deprived population always used to make me think that I will help them someday. It was then, when I decided that I will become a nurse and serve the mankind when I will grow up. My greatest motivation in achieving my childhood dream has been my grandmother, who recently passed away due to heart attack. It was she, who always believed in me, even when I was dropped out of the school at the age of eighteen. It was her believe in me, and my own passion to work for the humanity that I went back to the school and tried my level best to achieve my dreams. When I entered the nursing graduation program, it wasn't a full stop for me, but the first step towards achieving my dream. I do not believe in just gaining the theoretical knowledge, but in my opinion application of the gained knowledge is essential to understand it completely. This was perhaps the reason that I always tried to give my best performance in the clinical rotations and the examination held in the college.
