Personal Statement

Introduction

My interest in serving mankind brought me in the field of nursing. To turn this dream into reality, I took admission in Ohio University, from where I completed my “Associate Degree in Nursing”. Currently I am serving in the Southern Ohio medical center on the surgical vascular care unit. However, my ambition is to become a nurse practitioner, for which I have taken admission in BSN program. Through this personal statement paper, I have tried to explain the reasons for choosing nursing as my profession. I also made an effort to define my qualities as a competitive nursing professional.

Personal Statement

Nursing is not merely a profession, but for me, it is my passion. The reason behind my obsession with the profession is the basic idea of serving mankind. The nursing professionals perform a hectic job, facing a wide variety of challenges every day, and coping with diverse patient population. Although I am aware of the demanding nature and crucial compatibility required in this profession, yet I find myself ready to embark on this career, and explore my options within it.

Nursing is the profession that holds the idea of working with the population with varying ages, sex and ailments that can be physically and mentally challenging for the professionals. The patients are the individuals that are already suffering and the delivery of adequate care and support services is their utmost right. However, I totally believe that the best learning comes through practical experience. To achieve this practical experience I joined the Southern Ohio medical centre after my ADN.
