According to Dr. Martin Luther King, “the function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically.” He further said that intelligence and character are goals of true education. These words suggest the relevance of academic skills in education. This can be comprehended from the words of Dr. Martin Luther King that the purpose of education does not only involve the development of academic skills. In fact, education must also serve the purpose of equipping students with the skill of thinking critically. The goal of education must be to build the intelligence and character of students because students are the future of a nation.

The goal of education is to enhance the academic as well as critical thinking skills of students. The achievement of students does not only depend on their academic knowledge but also their ability to think critically. There is no denying the fact that critical thinking skills are important in every aspect of an individual's life. I am well-aware of the importance of critical thinking skills. I have encountered several situations where I was required to think and evaluate critically. I believe that in order to attain significant goals of life, critical thinking skills are important.

The importance of critical thinking, in the field of education, cannot be ignored. Critical thinking is important for students because they are future decision-makers. Students of every field of education must equip themselves with critical thinking skills. A few examples will demonstrate the implications of critical thinking in different disciplines.
