It is the geography that has made the earth going so far since its origin. If geography is not understood well, the earth cannot be taken care of in an effective and efficient manner. All those predictions that are made, are made on the basis of geography and are very helpful for the people living on earth. No one can deny the fact that the changing environment and the growing patterns of the weather are a growing concern of today's scientist, and certainly there is no possibility that these concerns can be ignored. Looking at the current situation of the world, the natural disasters that have caused mass destruction needs to be understood, and the causes of it needs to be identified as well so that such happenings could be avoided in the near future. This is what all comes under the heading of geography, and geography is not as simple as it sounds. If one rejects the importance of geography and denies to accept the advantages it has brought to human life, than he or she shall be living in a world of insanity. Never has a nation's people possessed more information, or been in command of more sophisticated means of acquiring, disseminating, and analyzing data, than do contemporary Americans. In addition to traditional resources, during recent decades GPS, GIS, satellite imagery, computer mapping, the wonderful resources of the Internet, and other technological advances have vastly expanded our knowledge of Earth's surface. Yet given these tremendous resources for enhancing our geographic awareness and global understanding, most Americans living in a Global Age continue to possess little more than a Stone Age awareness of the world about them.
