There are a number of skills and competencies required for an assistant manager for a fees department. Competition between individuals has increased due to the economic conditions and tight job market. As a result, only those candidates can survive in the job market who have the essential skills and ability to carry out their responsibilities in an effective and efficient way.

I am a Masters in Business Administration and with majors in Finance. In addition, I have done short courses in Finance, which helped me in increasing my knowledge about the subject. I have worked for couple of banks in the finance department, which helped me in gaining practical knowledge and applying theoretical frameworks to real life situations.
As a result of my 4 years experience in the finance sector, I have gained learning experience and acquired skills such as people management, process management, and systems development. As I have worked in the head office of a bank, I learned about the operations of a head office and the integration of system with a wide network of branches (Whetten, 2007).
One of the significant skills that I have is people management. It is a challenging task to manage the human resource and taking a collective stance for the achievement of common goals as people have different interests and career objectives. However, I acquired the skills while working for my previous employers and successfully managed the operations of the people. On the other hand, I also acquired the ability to manage the process and systems as I understand the significance of best practices and achievement of organizational goals through effective use of the process.
