Personal Statement

Education is the foremost necessity of every individual in this ever progressing world. Considering the significance of education in this highly competitive world, I intend to secure admission, in communication department in the University of Washington (UW), a world renowned American institution that fully caters to the modern and contemporary needs of the students. Even in this ever-changing world, overwhelmed by the technological boom, no one can deny the importance of acquiring professional education from a reputed educational institute. As in case of me, it has become an obligation as well as a determination to get a masters degree in business administration. Admission in University of Washington will be milestone in my academic career. It will enable me to accomplish my goals and objectives in life. I have always wanted to be like my mom. The motivating factor for me behind the selection, of communication as my majors, was the need to speak out for justice. I have an innate eagerness that I have inherited from my mother of helping destitute and less privileged people of society. I believe that one day I will be able to help them to speak out and express their feelings. This is one of the reasons that I choose communication as my majors. I have studied in a private girl school for 11 years. SRL, a private school, carved a way for my achievements. I have an open mind and learning attitude. I love learning different languages. Portuguese is an official language in Macau. When I was in high school in this region, I had an opportunity to learn Portuguese for 3 years in SRL. As part of my interest for learning linguistics, I also took French courses for 2 years. The interests in different languages enabled me to effectively communicate with people from different parts of the world. I would also like to mention here that I come from a single family. However, this fact has never affected my academic life. After passing high school, I decided to move abroad for advance education. I prefer United States of America for this purpose as I know it is a country of freedom and liberty. I feel very enthusiastic as a freshman. Everything is new and exciting to me.
