Personal Statement

Introduction

Films give an insight into human imagination, and simultaneously provide an opportunity to inhibit worlds that would not exist otherwise. Films are not only a source of entertainment, but it also but it allows individuals to expand their knowledge and understanding of the world and about the people living in it. Movies such as, 'Half Nelson' by Ryan Fleck and 'There will be blood' by Paul Thomas are two examples of movies that provide lessons about the morality, I believe these are most poignant movies that have been come out so far in the American cinema. In my opinion film is a medium which can be used to communicate universally and has the power to provoke and unite. I believe films are the most influential way to portray emotion and ingeniously address different issues and yet they provide entertainment and excitement in an effective manner which I find to be extremely fascinating. I have been interested in films since a very early age it has been a major part of life from shooting films with my family friends to thoroughly analyzing the connotations of classic cinemas.

From a very young age, I have developed an interest in film making while people used to watch movies for entertainment I looked for the technical aspects of the movies. Thus, I believe film studies would be the ideal course for me to study. As I have studied many of media courses in my early education therefore and have determined that film making would be the most effective field for me to choose for making my career. To save my collection of movies I have dedicated shelve at my home for keeping different films that range from classics such as citizen cane' to more cult cinema such as zombie flesh eaters. To enhance my knowledge further about films I have also subscribed to 'Bright Light' magazine as I believe it would assist me to be informed about the current trends and latest cinemas.

Discussion

Despite that I have been using from a very early age, however, my interest in film and media was academically spurred when the time came to choose subjects, at that point in time I realized that I am enthusiastic about the subject which was yet to be discovered.
