Introduction

Not a day goes by when an individual is forced to make a decision that might have positive or negative consequences on their quality of life, their social interactions or how their career blossoms. Simple examples might include the decision to go for takeout food despite being aware of your obesity, choosing to take a longer than necessary lunch break when you are in line for a promotion or choosing to partake in excessive leisure and compromising quality education.

Individuals who fare better in all these situations are those who are aware of how to critically analyze their situations and thus, make decisions that are favorable to them in the long run. Many, unfortunately, are unable to make critical decisions and go with the first thing that pops in their mind; often resulting in temporary benefits. The purpose of this paper is to reflect upon the concepts of critical thinking at the lessons learned throughout the course.

What is critical thinking?

Critical thinking is the process of eliminating oneself from the inclinations derived from emotions, seeing things using a perspective other than your own and then making a decision that will benefit an individual such that others, society, is harmed in the least manner possible.

What are the three most significant things that you learned about critical thinking during this class?

The concepts learned in this particular class are quite extra ordinary. Though simple in nature, they are aspects of my life that I often over looked. For example, I often let my emotions get the better of me and they had a lot to do with the decisions I made.
