Abstract

This report helps to develop a conceptual framework that would focus on few perspectives ad theories to allow me as a social worker to enhance my services and to show a relevant cause that I would particularly want to work for and contribute towards. It also uses several theories and perspectives before suggesting a practice model and programs that should be introduced in order to facilitate the Dyslexic group of children with difficulties in reading and writing.

Introduction

Every individual in this world owes some responsibility towards the society he or she belongs to, there are merely two to three ways that a human could give back to its society, the most common and mandatory on all is through taxation but that's more related to economic matters. However, the most significant method for contributing to a society is through social work. Every country has different sects of ethnic population, amongst these, there are many people who are victims of critical problems for e.g. homeless people, abused women or children, mentally unstable people and the old age people who needs to be socially cared and supported for by the privileged society who have the resources to help them.

This report helps to develop a conceptual framework that would focus on few perspectives ad theories to allow me as a social worker to enhance my services and to show a relevant cause that I would particularly want to work for and contribute towards, using my practice model and study of the social cause I want to target.

Conceptual framework

The system perspective is the view that a human behavior is directly associated to the social setting he has been brought up in, hence, human behavior is an outcome of the implications of the system upon an individual. Hence according to this perspective of a social worker could learn effective ways in which he could get feedback and information of a social victim and then help that person come out of the problem area and reinforce the positive behavior in that individual.

The systems approach was the most commonly used perspective for social workers in the 1940s and 1950s mainly due to a shift from a psychiatric model that focused on the psychological issues of a an individual only to a more environmentally influenced perspective.

This perspective was developed to facilitate engineers and military to develop technology for the World War II as well as it helped the engineers to process the information about the previous behaviors into feedback system (Becvar & Becvar, 1996).

Nevertheless, the social workers who started adopting the system perspective for solving the social problems of their clients were majorly under the influence of functionalistic sociology. In functionalist social system the society is perceived to be in a relatively stable position or could also be considered to be a part of equilibrium society.
