Introduction

Every individual must possess leadership qualities and skills in their development plan to compete and survive in today's highly competitive world, as well as for their personal development. This paper attempts to underline my personal strengths and weaknesses as leader, determine the areas of improvement, and identify the practices and skills of leadership that helps me in becoming an effective leader. The overall outcome will be an inclusive leadership development plan that will help me in growing as a person or leader.

Goal

My goal is to become a good and effective leader. In order to become an effective leader, I need to work or develop my skills of leadership. I want to become a flexible and a diverse leader.

Strengths

Communication Skills

Communication skills are essential to work in a team or in any organization (Armstrong, 2012). I am quite good communicator based on my past life experience. Appropriate skills of communication are achieved through selecting the suitable communication mode that the receiver may understand.

Organized

Another vital skill that I have learned during my academic life has been the organization. It is very important to remain organized whether working in a team or hold roles of leadership. I am very organized person as I maintain a comprehensive weekly agenda that outlines assignment or projects along with due dates.

Relationship Management

During my high school years, I began to realize the significance of a positive relationship management. I was engaged in theater and student unions and held roles of leadership in both. Thus, I comprehended that by maintaining a positive relationship, either in professional or personal life leads to better results regardless of the objective are assured.

Weaknesses

Time Management

Despite being an organized leader, I found trouble with time management. I used to take several project at a time as I am stimulated by enthusiasm of task accomplishment. On the other hand, when I am doing several assignments at a time, some essential point get overlooked.

Accepting Failure

I try to excel in all tasks despite how big or small it can be. When I have put time and effort into a project and the outcome is failure, I get disheartened and distress. It is essential to realize that to obtain perfection is not possible. However, not succeeding at a certain goal can be disappointing; the lesson learned from the failure can override reward.
