Personal Developmental Plan

The self management learning provide various ways to the people in finding the right ways in understanding things that are happening in the society where they live and at the place where they work. It is about setting the goal of life for evaluating and learning the purpose of learning and ways through which one can achieve all of the goals (Higher Education Academy 2009). People will learn various new things like, cultural differences, personalities, behaviors, various perceptions and many other changing activities in life. Self managed to learn apparently, give a wide scope to the people in learning and getting a chance to explore their own strategies in learning, which people might make short just to get clear from certain exams.

1.1 Approaches to self-managed learning

In the personal development plan, there are three approaches to the self-management learning.

Deep Approach

In this approach, the individuals are intentionally available at some place to learn something. When they encounter with a new idea, theory or information they are critically analyzing it. In the same way, they are also relating it to the past information. They are also relating different concepts to everyday life. Usually, this kind of learning occurs when individual wants to solve any unfamiliar problem (Laird et al 2005).

Surface Approach

In this approach, the individuals are learning as gain some advantage e.g. the students are learning this because of getting grades, marks etc. The majority of people are learning for repeating the past concepts of ideas.

Strategic Approach

In this approach, the individuals are using different tactics, devices and materials to learn. They are learning this because of achieving any high demanding thing. Additionally, peoples are taking different sources.

1.2 Lifelong Learning in Personal and Professional Contexts

Long term studying is all about ongoing studying individually that could give rise to the expert perspective. It is a continuous process in which individual learns voluntarily and there is no any external force (European Student Forum 2007).
