Before I start developing and analyzing my personal development plan, I would like to just refresh the idea of what personal development plan actually is. Personal development planning helps people and special 'students' and 'professionals' to think and analyze learning that has already taken place and also to plan for future. Personal development plan serves as a basic tool to build on the opportunities the educational life usually offers. This plan serves as a basic tool to decide what people particularly students have to achieve in certain time.

This plan usually serves as a plan of action which is based on the values, learning and reflection to enhance personal development within the parameters of education, careers and even personal relationships. This plan includes statements of one's goals and ambitions based on the competencies and acquired knowledge (Stella, 2003, Pp. 150-167). These plans are particularly emphasized in the field of higher education. Educators assumes that developing this plan helps is creating learners who are self directed and have an ability to achieve higher levels of education.

Developing my Personal Development Plan

The first and the foremost important aspect of my personal development plan starts with analyzing my learning and educational needs (Derek, 2000 Pp. 50-58). I believe there are three skills that I need to focus in attaining and they are improving my writing skills, my communication or interpersonal skills and most importantly my time management skills.

Analyzing my Writing Skills

I believe the most important aspect of any student's life is to be able to write effectively. I believe students must be able to write in such a manner that catches the attention of their teachers. I believe good writing skills are needed to excel in one's educational life and therefore his or her career. Somehow I am not quite confident about my writing skills. I believe that there is a room of opportunity to improve my writing skills. I believe effective writing skills will be needed throughout my career and this I assume can be learned. I need to make myself effective writer for the reason of my educational attainment in an effective manner and also for my enhancement in career. It is assumed that professionals always need to write, no matter what their job description is (Roel, 2009 Pp. 103-107). The writing may be in the form of internal memos or the correspondence with the clients.

Plan for Improving my Writing Skills

I plan for improving my writing skills by making my writing activity more organized. I have decided that I will focus more on the usage of proper vocabulary and grammar which I have always ignored just for the sake of writing speedily. I have a plan to properly analyze what is the main idea that I want to convey through my writing. I will list down all the main content that I want to produce.
