Anorexia Nervosa is a type of eating disorder that usually started in early years of teenage. It is found among people, who have fear of gaining weight, so they limit the amount of food, they and consequently become dangerously thin. In most cases, it starts as dieting, but it ultimately transforms into a disease when dieting gets out of control. It is more common in females than males specifically among young women who want to maintain their figure and body shape at any cost. Researchers have observed that this serious disorder is more common among white women than blacks and most specifically those, who are academic achievers or who have a goal oriented personality (Treasure, 2013). Further, it has noticed that anorexia does not only affect the body of the patients, but their minds and cognitive development are also very badly influenced.
The case study selected for this paper is of 22 old years, girl suffering from anorexia since past 6 years and she is now at severe stage of it. Her medical attendant has suggested the administration of artificial nutrition in the form of PEG feeds. However, Sally is refusing to consent to both the insertion of a PEG tube and to artificial feeding (Ostroff, 2011). In this paper, it will be evaluated that what negative or positive impact of PEG tube feeding can cause on Sally's cognition along with some other scientific facts associated with anorexia Nervosa. Most importantly, this paper will provide a detailed account of the fact that does Sally have a legal right to refuse these procedures.

Researchers have observed that severe Anorexia Nervosa likewise noticed in case of Sally, can produce some serious physical health result that takes place due to starvation. When a person starts dieting or eating less with excessive exercise with the intentions of losing weight, he or she become weak, low energy, and start showing symptoms of muscle wasting.
