Introduction

The paper deals with the study of the medical issues and problems of a middle aged patient, who is suffering from diabetes and is unable to deal with the issues and medical conditions that are generally faced by the diabetic patients. It is eminent to mention here that although Waseem, the diabetic individual under discussion, is taking Metformin, Glicazide, Pioglitazone as well as Simvastatin, he is reluctant to the use of insulin and has presented his unwillingness at a number of instances. The patient, being overweight and unable to manage and maintain his diet properly, has also all fallen victim to other issues, including retinopathy, diabetic foot, leg ulcer and erectile dysfunction, thus rendering him unable to lead a normal life and disturbing his routine as well. As a result of the situation, Waseem has started feeling dejected and depressed, getting the feeling that he is unable to cope with his issues and fulfill his responsibilities in the right and appropriate manner. Diabetes is one of the most common and yet highly precarious diseases of the current times, which is claiming a number of lives each year around the globe. It should be taken into account that although there are a number of cures and precautionary measures available for the diabetic patients, the number of individuals falling victim to the disease is on a continuous rise and the efforts to combat the issue is increasing with each passing day.

In order to ensure that the patient is properly treated and rightly cured, it is essential to ensure that the patient is fully updated and rightly informed about the details of his problem and the do's and don'ts of the diabetics. With the advances in the modern medicines and the increase in the researches and studies about various issues and medical condition, a large number of remedies, diet plans and exercise have been devised that not only assist in controlling the issue but also help the patients in dealing with the problem effectively. This implies that the patients can now be more updated and informed about their health and medication, and can remain healthier by taking a few precautions and remaining in touch with the doctor to continue getting the updates and instructions regarding their issue.

In the case under discussion, the patients Waseem is not only suffering from diabetes, but has also fallen victim to a number of other issues, that have been explained in the above mentioned paragraphs.
