Introduction

Being a social animal by nature, human being is influenced and affected by a number of social factors around him, which includes a number of living and non living factors and conditions. Among the living beings, the parents, friends, siblings and acquaintances all affect and place impact on an individual, with the parents being most influential ones as they are there since the very first day, and the child spends most of his initial days in their supervision and guidance. Thus, the importance and significance of parent leadership cannot be ignored and has been highlighted by a number of psychologists, social scientists and other society experts. The following paragraphs would focus on the importance of parent leadership, and would also present the examples of children whose parents placed an immense impact on their personality and upbringing.

Parental Leadership

The concept of parent leadership is not a new one, it dates back to a number of years and the role of parents in development of child's personality has been emphasized and debated since a number of years. However, with the changes in family structure and the role of parents keep changing and as the families have now become more mobile, and the extended families are not easy to access and mostly are living in separate city and at times even in different states.

The increase in distances has also placed significant impact on the relationship of children and parents, but it should be noticed that the role of parents is still important and significant, as well as important for the development of child's personality. It is still believed that parents know exactly what the child wants and what is good for their child. In addition, it is essential for parents to have the services that can significantly meet the needs of their family so that stability in family position can be achieved, which paves the way to content and happy living. The use of right strategies at the right time is also significant to make the children realize that their parents are the ultimate solution to all their problems and they should be reached whenever and wherever help is needed (Klein, 2010). It also makes the children realize the fact that their parents are their best resource, advocate and expert, whom they should consult in case they need help and support.

Requirements for being Parent Leaders

There are certain requirements for all the roles and positions around the world, and same is the case with being parent leaders. In order to gain the status of being outstanding parent leaders, parents need to have sufficient amount of knowledge and information about parenting skills and the basic requirements of children. They must possess enough information that allows them to use their authority in a meaningful and positive manner and should also have unity so that the children are not rendered double minded and can easily relate to all their orders and opinions (Ennis and Nanus, 2007).
