The evidence provides that in United States much role convergence has occurred between the police and military since the two has assumed numerous characteristics of one another. A closer look at the role convergence in the two professions indicates that the compelling forces resulting in this junction of roles are predominantly different for both professions. The article provides that one facet of this convergence of police and military roles that is “militarization of police” appears to be problematic and bothersome for the citizens of United States and the overall society.

The ethical dilemma in this concern is that the adoption of the techniques and processes of military by the police of United States is not troublesome or problematic.
