Facts Palsgraf (P) was waiting at a trains station for her train to arrive. Another train was going away the station and a man carrying a covered bundle rushed to board the train. An employee of the Long isle trains Co. (D) tried to help the man board the going train and in so doing, knocked the package loose. The package contained fireworks or explosives (record is unclear) which ignited upon impact. This explosion knocked over levels on the trains stage, injuring P.
