How to Reduce the Prevalence of Type II Diabetes in the Middle East

[Name of the Institute]

INTRODUCTION

Background

Today, medical science has reported that diabetes is increasingly becoming one of the most common medical condition with its account in deaths is dramatically increasing across the world. Today, medical science has that reported that Type II diabetes, where people cannot use the insulin effective, is increasingly becoming the most common type of diabetes with at least 171 million people are identified to have Type II diabetes across the world (WHO, 2012). Researchers forecasted that this report is likely to increase at more than double rate by the year 2030 (Shaw et al., 2010; Laws et al., 2012).

Problem Statement

While almost every country is affected from diabetes and particularly type II diabetes which is most common among people, developing countries in particular are reported to have highest number of people with diabetes that has dramatically increased during the last years and is forecasted to increase by 150% in the next 25 years (Reijmer et al., 2010).

Moreover, it is documented that while developed countries are susceptible with Type II diabetes among majority of people with age of retirement, developing countries reported the high prevalence of Type II diabetes in people aged between 35 and 64 thereby increasing the mortality rate in those countries. A research, in this regard, necessary to examine the ways through which laws can be used to prevent Type II diabetes by focusing on developing countries with particular case on Middle East.

Research Questions

RQ1: Can law be used as an effective tool to prevent the prevalence of Type II diabetes in Middle East?

RQ2: What are important factors within law to prevent the prevalence of Type II diabetes in Middle East?
